Introducing Justine (Tin)
What is your role at ESA?
I am an occupational therapist at ESA Murarrie
What experience and skills do you have that your clients can benefit from?
As I have been working with children for the past 5 years, I believe I have gathered enough clinical skills to target OT goals such as play skills, school readiness skills, executive functions, social skills, self-care skills and some pre-vocational skills. I have worked with children ranging from aged 1.5 years old to 16 years old in my previous workplace which provided me with opportunities to hone my clinical judgement. Working with children and their families have broadened my understanding and view on how client-centeredness is an essential factor in service delivery.
What do people tell you you’re good at?
Some people would tell me I have done a good job working with preschool/school-aged children targeting school-readiness and fine motor skills. I usually incorporate play and arts and crafts into my sessions.
How would you sum up your therapy approach in 5 words?
Client-centered, evidence-based, sustainable, creative, and fun
When not at work, how do you spend your time?
Since I’m new here in Brisbane, I try to go to different places and explore the city. I also try to travel to other nearby cities too. I’m on a journey to find the best restaurants and cafés in town. Prior to moving, I would spend time with my family and friends. On special occasions, I go to the beach or go hiking.

I’m an Occupational Therapist in the Toowong team.
What experience and skills do you have that your clients can benefit from?
I’ve been able to get experience across a range of areas, including early intervention, community-based visits and working with adults which has helped me develop a broad perspective (and lots of skills in thinking on my feet). I’ve also completed training in the areas of mental health, trauma, art therapy, sensory development, toileting and interoception and am looking forward to learning more in future.
What do people tell you you’re good at?
Listening, getting creative and making people smile!
How would you sum up your therapy approach in 5 words?
Client-centred, creative problem solving.
When not at work, how do you spend your time?
I love to try out as many crafts as possible, spend time with friends and explore Brisbane’s many cafés.
Introducing Rosanna
What is your role at ESA?
I am an Occupational Therapist based at Toowong and Springfield clinics. This is my second year with ESA.
What experience and skills do you have that your clients can benefit from?
I have completed professional development courses (for example DIR floortime, Learn to Play) that focus on supporting the development of children's play skills through a developmental and relationship-driven approach.
Other than English, I am also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. My ability to speak different languages have allowed families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to communicate easily with me.
My experience in working and collaborating with the wider multi-disciplinary team allows me to make appropriate referrals to relevant allied health professionals to provide the best available support for my clients.
What do people tell you you’re good at?
I am described as attentive, observant and detail-oriented.
How would you sum up your therapy approach in 5 words?
Fun, inclusive, strength-based, client-led and family-centred
When not at work, how do you spend your time?
I enjoy going on hikes and exercising at the gym during the weekend. I also enjoy reading books while cuddling with my cat.
