In the Science faculty at present, our Year 9 students are undertaking a practical problem solving task involving acid rain. These problem-solving tasks are created at the junior science level to prepare students for VCE Science as they are required to design an experiment as part of their course assessment.

The Year 9 students have been made aware that acid rain in our society is increasing, which means that it is necessary to protect metals and other materials that are effected by acid in our society. The Year 9  students have been enjoying finding out which is the best material that will protect the metal from corrosion by an acid during the practical and discovering ways you can protect metals in your home from acid.
