Year 10 Fragrance Bottle
Students had to design a new fragrance bottle that was to be endorsed by their chosen celebrity. A folio of designs were created following the design process. For the final presentations, a scaled model was made using the 3D printer and a magazine advertisement for the new fragrance using Adobe PhotoShop.
Unit 3 Outcome 1- Dada Postcard
Students had to design a postcard that would create a reaction with a specific target audience in the style of the Dada art period.
When producing the postcard students had to consider; expressive use of typography (size and colour), random placement of imagery, collage and photomontage techniques (glue and scissors) and a deliberate use of ground-dominant composition.
Year 9 - Gift Boxes
Based on their knowledge gained from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau, students designed the surface graphics for a Gift Box in the style of one or both of these design periods. They produced the three dimensional packaging of their choice, either manually or digitally.
Year 11 Display Packaging
Students designed a new chess piece that would be a collectors item. They then had to design the surface graphics of this new chess piece. This display packaging would be positioned on the counter of the shop displaying the actual products.
Design Style of an Era
Brief: Your local coffee shop wants to celebrate different decades of design history and has requested a new pattern to be applied each month to their takeaway coffee cups. Each month a different decade will be featured. To commence the project, they have requested that you design a pattern for the 1950s and one for the 1980s.
