Education in Faith

Education in Faith encompasses the following areas: Religious Education, Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments.

Br Doug Walsh from St Vinnies

This Friday, Br Doug Walsh from St Vinnies will be joining us for prayer and will be talking to the children about the winter appeal that St Fidelis takes part in every year.  This year we are focusing on tinned food and clothing.

Br Doug is a Marist Brother who has been principal of Marist Schools. Apart from teaching, his real passion is working with young people who want to live the Gospel by assisting people in need. He has volunteered for over 30 years and directed the soup vans for many of those years. He loves talking to students and young adults about the soup vans and the Catholic Social Teaching from our tradition.

We are delighted to have Br Doug engage with our children about his great work but also to talk to our children about “Mini Vinnie”. Mini Vinnies empowers children to become advocates within their school and local community by putting their values into action. Here at St Fidelis, we are so excited to be working in conjunction with Br Doug Walsh and Ian Vergel to begin our Mini Vinnies journey.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Our Year 3 children will be celebrating their Reconciliation on Thursday 9th of June at 7.00 pm.  We ask that you keep these children and their families in your prayers as they prepare for this Sacrament.
