Preach Off

On Tuesday 6 September, the Christian Studies Faculty Leaders ran a Preach Off as part of Wellbeing Week. Students were invited to prepare a small message on the topic of wellbeing, including a Bible verse which says -

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

We heard from 17 students from across the year levels, all with messages centred on the idea of God’s peace as represented in this passage. All participants displayed wonderful public speaking skills and a passion for wellbeing. There was also great encouragement from students from all year levels who attended to support the speakers.

The winner of our inaugural Preach Off was Lucy Destry (9.21), who delivered a fantastic speech on how God’s blanket of peace can comfort us from the cold world.

Congratulations also to Jing Tian (7.3) and Isabel Alcordo (7.3) who came in second, and Iann Luo (9.20) who came third. Thank you to Mr Barker, Mrs Bruce and Mr Goode for the opportunity and a huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported this event.
