Foundation (Prep)

Hello from Prep C!

This week we have introduced new chants, 'two new boots, oo, oo, oo' and 'look at the book, oo, oo, oo'. We brainstormed words that we could think of that had these sounds and some students continued to find them in their reading throughout the week.

During Reader's Workshop, students had the opportunity to do a self reflection about their personal reading. I met with each student and we set an individual reading goal for each person.

In Maths, we have continued to focus on subtraction. The children used blocks to work out number sentences, and chalkboards to record their findings. We also used an application called Essential Assessment on the iPads, to assess student understanding in both measurement and probability.

On Friday, the students got to meet Miss Dowel, their teacher who will be replacing me whilst I am on medical leave. The children were excited and are looking forward to working with Miss Dowel.
