Nursery 2

Play dough season begins

Some play dough restrictions due to the pandemic situation are being removed now, and our children can enjoy some play dough time occasionally. We continue to maintain the hygiene practices such as washing hands before and after play dough and we make sure to use the prepared play dough for only one time experience. Play dough is beneficial in strengthening the small muscles and tendons of little hands when the children manipulate it. This helps them with their pencil and scissor control skills later. Play dough enhances creativity, fine motor skills, and build-up concentration thus improving the self- regulation skills. Our children in nursery 2 depicts their emerging creativity through play dough activities.

Activities building-up hand- eye coordination

In Nursery 2, we are assisting children to improve their fine motor skills. We planned some activities to help them with their hand-eye coordination this week. The activity, scooping-up objects with a spoon and filling them to a container, was enjoyed by the children. Pasting colourful pieces of paper and feathers in contact papers was another opportunity to develop these skills.

Art and creativity

Art and creativity experiences are always loved by our children. It brings-out their inner peace and happiness. We differ the techniques of painting to provide them new experiences and maximum satisfaction.

Indoor physical activities and camping

During the winter season not all days bear favourable weather and we have to stay indoors sometimes. To help our energetic nursery 2 s to burn their energy and keep themselves healthy and happy, we introduce indoor play activities. Providing outdoor play experiences such as climbing frames or see-saw, in side the room, bring them a whole lot of new experiences. During these two weeks we had outdoor activities set-up in the room  for children, occasionally. We noticed how they bring real life experiences to the play and initiate their own play opportunities. The play tunnel and the camping tent were among their favourites.
