Climate Change Q&A Webinar
After a Summer of catastrophic and unprecedented weather events, many of us have questions around climate change, weather, and how our future may be affected.
Further to this, the world has been faced with the COVID 19 pandemic in the recent months and at the same time, climate change continues to impact our environment.
Our dynamic presenters include:
- Kate Hook | Futuring Orange Founder and Ecoluxe Transfers business owner
- Dr Andrew Rawson | Associate professor at CSU
- Dr Simon Wright | Environmental Researcher and Consultant
- Lara O’Brien | KWS student and UNICEF Youth Drought Summit representative
This is a unique opportunity for our community to learn more about the challenges and opportunities of climate change in our region and to be inspired to take action.
If you have a question you would like to ask, please submit these on the Try-Booking page when registering to attend. Join us for a live panel discussion and Q & A session. The webinar link and details will be sent via email closer to the date.

Scholastic Book Fair
Term 3, Week 1 & 2
Tuesday 21st July - Friday 31st July
A blizzard of books is arriving at the KWS Library in Term 3. There will be snow much to see and read at our Scholastic Book Fair.
Students will be given time to visit and explore all of the books on offer. They will then be able to make a ‘Wish List’ to bring home for your approval. ‘Wish Lists’ will need to be signed and returned and any endorsed purchases will be individually billed through Accounts. Physical books will then be sent home with your child to your bookshelf to be enjoyed.
Every purchase you make earns learning and literacy resources for our School. We thank you in advance for your support of this event.

ICAS 2020 – Junior School
We have decided as a school to no longer participate in the ICAS tests in the foreseeable future. In 2019, ICAS made the move to online and this posed a number of issues from the UNSW’s end that made it very difficult for us to engage with. We have also found that the results are coming back very late in the year, which means that they are not as effective in terms of assisting us with providing enrichment for our students.
We understand that this may be disappointing for some students and their parents, but we are actively looking to engage with other opportunities to assist with enrichment.

Student achievement stories for The Chronicle
We are seeking suggestions that parents may have for the student achievement section in the next edition of The Chronicle magazine.
Students might be nominated for academic, sport, or performing art achievements… They may have done some charity fundraising or performed an act of kindness worthy of recognition… It can be something they’ve done at KWS or an activity outside of school.
If you would like to nominate a student, please email your ideas with as much detail as possible direct to Caroline Rich at crich@kws.nsw.edu.au.
