An Open Mic Night is a chance for you to get up and perform a song or piece of music for your friends and peers. Due to the restrictions in place for COVID-19, we are asking for video submissions for the first KWS ‘Virtual Open Mic Night’!
Students in Year 7 and 8 are encouraged to submit a video featuring a solo or small group performance (remember to social distance). You can choose any style of music.
The videos will be collated by the Music Department, and a link will be made available for a few days to stream the Virtual Open Mic performances, from early Week 9.
We’re looking forward to hearing your performances! If you’ve got any questions, speak to Mr Key, Mrs McRae or Mrs Shields.
Ollie Charlton, Liam Bracks, James Crisp, Will Englund and Ben Hoskins-Murphy have been spending their lunchtimes jamming in the music rooms and writing their own music. Here are the boys playing an excerpt from Comfortably Numb, by Pink Floyd.
Some of our advanced piano students performed in a live streamed concert last Friday. Greta Seymour, Eliza Ward and Elizabeth Kwa joined piano staff from KWS and Orange Regional Conservatorium of Music.
