the Deputy Principal

Mr James Boyd

Please find below updates on the School’s protocols and guidance regarding COVID-19.

Lockers and Year Group locations

  • Next week (Week 9) will see lockers allowed to be used and a reopening of the Day House areas for our students and staff. I know our students (and staff) have been looking forward to this since our return and this will enhance the sense of community amongst the Houses next week - something we have all missed due to the restrictions that have been in place.
  • Students will not be restricted to areas next week.
  • Please note that the gym will continue to remain closed at recess and lunch until further notice.

Co-curricular update

Ms Anthony will be sharing information regarding co-curricular arrangements for Term 3 next week with parents.

PE Uniform reminder

Changing rooms are still not able to be used. Students with scheduled PE lessons should continue to attend school in their full sports uniform (with tracksuit for warmth) on these days. On other days normal winter uniform should be worn.

COVID-19 Update

  • The School is currently planning for Term 3 using the latest information provided by NSW Health and AISNSW. Further details will be shared with students and parents before the end of Term 2.
  • The Senior School undertook its COVID-19 Drill last week and thank you to the students for their cooperation, compliance with procedures and feedback following the exercise.
  • It is important that we remain vigilant, practise good hygiene, continue to be tested if displaying symptoms and do not become laissez-faire in our attitude. By adopting this approach we will keep KWS safe and this will allow the School’s protocols to relax further as we move into Term 3.

Climate Change Webinar

On Wednesday 24 June at 6:30pm there is a webinar on Climate Change. The panel is a mix of parents and one of our students, Lara O’Brien, and presents an opportunity for our community to learn more about the challenges and opportunities of climate change in our region.
