A note from Mr Jackson

Welcome Back

It was great to have our staff back at school on Monday. It was an important time to explore ways teachers can support students as they return. The Health and Wellbeing of all students continues to be the primary focus of all. Teachers have planned for support as students enter through our gates but also as they enter classrooms and participate in learning experiences.

On Tuesday around 257,000 government school students returned to classrooms. A small, but very important part of that number were our students at Rosanna Primary. Thanks to our whole staff for welcoming our students so warmly and our parents and carers who have prepared them as they enter the school. We are looking forward to the return to face-to-face teaching of students in Year 3 to Year 6 on Tuesday 9 June.

Staggered Drop Offs and Pick ups

Thanks to those who have ensured smooth drop off’s and pick ups. Thank you to parents who continue to ensure physical distancing continues.

Our drop of time remains between 8:45pm and 9:00am. Prep/1Y and Prep S have entered in through gate 1 at the top of the drive while our Prep K and Prep N students have entered through gate 6 in the STEM Garden. This will continue into Week 2. Our Year 1 students and Year 2 students are welcome to enter from numerous gates in the morning. A teacher from the 1/2 Area will continue to support students who wish to enter from gate 3. Some of entered with their Prep sibling which is a supportive practice we encourage. Students will continue to move directly into class and participate in their choices of a range of enjoyable activities.

In the afternoon all students are dismissed from a gate. Our Preps exit at the same gates they entered. The gates where students exit are …

Gate 1 – PS & P1Y

Gate 2 – 12R

Gate 3 – 12W   & 12K

Gate 4 – 23A

Gate 5 –12B

Gate 6 – PN & PK

Friday’s Hygiene Heroes - Day 29 May

We are all looking forward to the special day on Friday when Prep to Year 2 students have been encouraged to dress up as a hero! This fun day in classrooms will underline the importance of continuing to maintain hygienic practices throughout our school and community. Explicit lessons on such behaviours has been an important element to ensure student safety and reassure our newly returned students of their health and well being.

Instrumentalist and Other Contracted Groups

Due to current restrictions we are continuing to suspend a range of activities that would involve external providers in hosting a range of activities. This includes, Digimaker, Creative Masterminds, Chess and instrumentalist sessions. All excursions and incursions are suspended also.  We are hopeful they will recommence in Term 3.

Contacting the Office

Thanks for those who have called the office or written emails rather than ventured onsite. We continue to encourage these forms of contact to ensure the safety of all onsite.

Assembly on Friday

All are welcome to join our Webex online assembly on RPSTV! We’ll be showing some video on home learning and hearing how Hygiene Hero Day went. Again, it will highlight the wonderful
