Principal's message

Welcome back! Welcome back to a new term! It has been great to see all the happy faces come into school each morning and more importantly to see their smiling faces at the end of the day as they head home! Students have settled into their work and are relishing being around their friends.

As we are all aware, our city cousins have not had the opportunity to return to school as we have, however the return to Remote Learning for us is only an outbreak away and we will be in the hands of the Health department and Education department who will make this decision. By practicing good hygiene routines, along with staying at home as much as possible, will help us avoid the need to revisit Remote learning.

Curriculum Days: Unfortunately we have had to again postpone our Curriculum days for the 23rd & 24th July as the presenter cannot fly out of Western Australia. The two day professional development was to focus on ‘Talk for Writing’ a new approach that will tie together our literacy practices. We will endeavour to reschedule when restrictions ease.

Congratulations: Congratulation to Mr Fraser and Jess who are the proud parents to Sylvie, a beautiful baby daughter! Mum, dad and Sylvie doing really well!

Staffing: We have sadly farewelled Mrs. Morphett from the front office who has returned to Geelong with her family. We thank Colleen for her many years of service and wish her all the best. Teacher aide, Glenda Ellery has also had a change of direction in her life and has left us. Glenda has spent many years working with many of our children in crisis and her patience and caring nature will be missed. Mrs Nelson currently remains on leave and should be returning for 4th term. We are grateful to the many teachers who step in when staff are on leave and seamlessly take over the education and care of your children.

2021 Enrolments: With the current pandemic situation upon us all schools have had to alter enrolment processes for 2021 preps. We are unable to offer school tours, although enrolment papers can be emailed to the school or dropped off to me at the gate in the mornings or afternoons. If you know of someone who has a prep aged child please remind them that the new enrolment process is underway!

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and patience during these ever changing times.
