Pre Kinder

Welcome to Country
In the Pre-Kinder room we have been continuing with our acknowledgement to county.
Here is the Land, Here is the Sky
Here are my friends and here am I
We thank the people for the land on which we learn and play
Hands up, Hands Down
We're on Bunarong and Wondjuri land.
The children are getting involved in there acknowledgment to county through reminding their educators to participate in it daily.
Inanay Aboriginal song.
The Pre-kinder's are also continuing to enjoy singing their Inanay lullaby song, this song is traditionally sung by the Torres Strait islander people, however it has become a lost language. The meaning behind the song is believed to be about flowers and fauna.
Find link to Youtube video below of the Lullaby.

Learning about feeling Nervous.
With many children returning to care after spending some time at home the children have been feeling a bit nervous coming into care, so their educators have been reading "When I feel nervous", this is a story about how inside your body might feel different when you are feeling nervous from your heart beating fast to your tummy feeling funny.
The children are responding well to this and during times of they day they have been coming up to their educators and asking to read the nervous book.
Enjoying indoor outdoor play.
We have been enjoying spending some time outdoors in the recent weeks, we have been talking with the children about wearing weather appropriate clothes and foot wear. The children have been practicing putting on and taking off their own jackets by;
1. Finding the hood.
2. Placing it onto our head
3. Then searching for the arm holes.
Note From Educators
We would like to ask family's to please name your children's Jackets and beanies, as they take them off when enjoying some inside play it is sometimes difficult for the educators to work out which jacket belongs to a particular person and we are finding that we have plenty of jackets left behind every day.
We would also like to encourage family's to send a warm jacket and jumboot with your children daily or choose to leave some at care so the children can participate in the indoor outdoor program that the center offers.
