Principal's Message

Week 3 Term 4

This week we have launched a new look for our newsletter.  The new platform allows us to include higher quality photos and offers better viewing on all devices.  Please let us know what you think of this new format and what you would like to see in it.

BAPS is growing...

Last week was another amazing week of learning for all students. Our youngest students were on show during Kindy start as we welcomed our new Kindergarten students for 2019.  BAPS is growing and it looks most likely that we will have four Kindy classes next year.  Our school has been identified as suitable to establish support classes.  These classes are currently being formed and will join us in 2019.

In the last few weeks, a number of new families have enrolled for 2019.  If you are aware of anyone intending to enrol please ask them to call the office, as we will be building classes.

Term 4 ...

We are entering the busiest part of the year for both our teachers and students with upcoming events, reports, staffing and classes to be completed.  Please share any information with your class teacher that may assist us with class selections. If you have a particular request for your child’s class placement, please send in a letter addressed to myself.  If possible I will support the request.  Please keep in mind that movement of children can be difficult.  Many hours are spent ensuring special needs and the social development of students are met.  These factors are taken into account when making classes but adapting to change is a life skill and is all part of each child’s developing resilience.

Primary Principals Association...

This week I will be attending the Australian Primary Principals Association conference in Sydney.  This professional learning event allows me to meet with successful Principals from around the state and share ideas to bring back to our school.  Mrs White will be the relieving Principal for the week.

Safety in the mornings...

Can I ask that our parents and carers ensure children do not arrive at school prior to the 8.25am bell. Teachers are rostered on to ensure we have supervision of the play areas throughout the day.  Could you please ensure that all children arrive after this bell as we want to keep all children safe at all times.

Stay Informed...

As we head into Term 4,  more and more events will be held at BAPS.  Can all parents please keep an eye on our Facebook page, newsletter and website calendar to ensure you are aware of all upcoming events.

Your support...

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school.  At Kindy start, a few parents were concerned that they could not attend school to engage in classes and therefore felt they were not supporting our school.   If you are able to help in class, that is wonderful but the best way to support our school is to engage in conversations with your child at home about the significance of schooling.  The more children see parents valuing education, the better children will engage.

Please continue to remind each child how precious and capable they are.

Have a great week at BAPS.

Mr Dalkeith
