Book Week Junior Assembly & Parade

Monday 19th August at 9.30am

Next Monday 19th August, Book Week is celebrated in our Junior School and the theme this year is "Reading is my Secret Power".  From 9.30am - 10.30am there will be a special assembly in our Performing Arts Centre (PAC) where students from Kinder - Year 6 will have a parade of their book related costumes. Parents are able to take pictures of their children with friends in class before 9.20am.  Come and join the fun as we celebrate together the joy of reading.

The Importance of Having Fun with Picture Books for Oral Language

Parent Session - Monday 19th August

To celebrate Book week we are having a special parent session with our Speech Pathologist, Sue Brown straight after our Book Week Assembly in the Library.  Sue will talk about the importance of reading and how to use picture books in an interactive way to help children develop a variety of oral language skills.

Father's Day Stall - Junior School

Wednesday 28th August 

 

Our Parents & Friends Association are running a Father's Day stall for all Prep to Year 6 students on Wednesday 28th August in the LCS Boardroom.  Items will range from $2 - $10 and include warm woolen beanies, fishing tackle boxes, mugs with coffee, chocolate bars, leather key rings, paper airplane kits and much more.  A tray of sample items for students to check out will be taken around classrooms in the days prior to this event.  Classes will be brought to the Boardroom throughout the day and Kinder classes won't miss out as they will have a special day on the Monday/Tuesday.

Middle School Information & Subject Evening

This evening is for students currently in Year 8 & 9 that will be moving to Year 9 & 10 in 2020 at our school.  Information will be shared about subjects being offered in 2020 and  the process of how to choose them.  There will also be an opportunity to speak to subject teachers about their curriculum to help students make correct choices for future pathways.  Our 2020 Middle School Handbook will be available to students on the night.
