Across the Assistant Principals Desk-

We hope that all of our students and families have settled back into the term and are enjoying the wonderful learning opportunities that this final term of school presents.

The Korean Exchange team has arrived back in Australia this morning after an exciting and memorable time in South Korea.  Families and friends are busting to see them all again and hear about the incredible experiences that they have encountered.  Lots of photos have been taken to capture the trip, and some of those have been placed in today’s newsletter for us all to enjoy.  We will hear more about a visit to the King’s Palace, having a blast at the amusement park, building their cultural awareness during homestays, spending time at Sin-Myung Primary School (our sister school) and visiting significant monuments.  Both the staff and students have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we are very much looking forward to having them back at school.

Our fingers are crossed for good weather on Sunday so that we can maximise attendance and achievement at the Working Bee.  This Sunday, staff and families are encouraged to come along between 8:00am and 1:00pm and support the school with some maintenance and beautification of our school grounds.  Year levels across the school have been allocated areas of responsibility for the morning and your attendance would be greatly appreciated.  We encourage families to attend for as long, or short, as they are able to.  A jumping castle is being provided by the Lions Club and a sausage sizzle will provide sustenance to our volunteers for the morning.  Everyone who attends will also go into some raffle draws to receive prizes on the day.  Please bring some gardening tools if you are attending, including rakes and brooms.  Many hands will make light work and our children will benefit throughout the term from the work we do on Sunday.  We look forward to seeing you there!

The first of our official transition days will be held next Tuesday in the Foundation classrooms.  We are looking forward to seeing all of our enrolled 2019 Foundation students during their visit from 9:30 – 10:30 on Tuesday.  Parents will be welcomed into the staffroom for morning tea and an information session on school readiness.  If you know of any families who are yet to enrol their child to start school in 2019, please make them aware that the formal transition process is about to begin.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
