Student Voice & Agency in Action

Every term, our teachers meet to evaluate the impact of their teaching programs, this is called moderation. Staff look at assessment data and student feedback to guide their work. This term, our year 7 and 8 Class Captains joined our staff to share their thoughts. By inviting students to moderation, we allow them to see how we use the initial feedback they provide us and the analysis of their growth data by staff. They see that based on their assessments; staff determine what we will do in the future.

Their participation allowed teachers to ask additional questions in relation to initial feedback. It provided further insight. This also allowed us to build on the connections staff have with students.
