The Berth Mouchette Competition is back for the 129th year. Every year for over a century, thousands of young Victorians have been bringing French poetry to life in the antipodes of France. Our 2023 theme is “la vérité” (the truth) and includes a selection of poems with each year level having 2 poems to choose from.

This year, Lalor Secondary College had 7 participants from thousands of entries across Victoria: 1 from Year 7; 3 from Year 8; and 3 from year 9. Thank you all for signing up to the competition, and for taking your time to practice and memorize the poem.
