Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Day
Last Wednesday some of our Senior Students attended an awesome inclusive sports event at Boroondara Sports Complex to trial some different sports. The students enjoyed various ‘fishing’ and adapted NRL activities and were provided information about various additional inclusive local sports options. We look forward to supporting more students to attend events like this in the future and link to fun activities in our amazing local community.
ATSA Expo
Last Thursday some of our therapist’s represented Belmore School by attending the ATSA Independent Living Expo at the Showgrounds. They met with lots of local services and equipment providers and identified those that would benefit our students and our school community. More exciting collaborations to come.
New research to advance safety for children with disabilities and medical conditions on our roads
Does your child use a speciality harness/vest when travelling in a motor vehicle?
Mobility and Accessibility for Children in Australia Ltd (MACA) is seeking your valuable feedback.
Please complete this 10-15-minute survey to share your family’s experience of using
these products and go in the draw to win one of ten $100 vouchers.
The survey is part of a two-year research project to improve knowledge about harnesses
and vests, and how they are used. The outcomes of this work will help to develop
information and recommendations to guide harness/vest use for children.
MACA is leading this Austroads project (2022-2024), in partnership with The George Institute for Global Health, and the study has been approved by the UNSW Human Research Ethics Committee (HC220818).
MACA is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to advancing the rights of children with
disabilities and medical conditions to safe and accessible transport.
