Young Leaders Program

Each week we are focusing in on one of the APS Young Leader Teams and this week we introduce to you the Hi-5 Team. We have selected Asrah and Emily as representatives of the Hi-5 Team and asked them some questions about what they do each Wednesday afternoon in our Young Leaders Program. 

What do you do each week on Wednesday afternoon?

Asrah: We are setting up the Hi-5 store to sell items for high five cards.

Emily: “In the high five shop we replace items with new and old things for everybody to buy and fix the high five shop.”

Why do you think this group is important for students at Albanvale Primary School?

Asrah: “We want people to have fun and receive items that are like awards to them and to celebrate when people fill up the tube of high five cards.

Emily: “I know that my job is important and can encourage and entertain students to work hard and behave better in school. It also helps students have more fun.”

What is your favourite part of being in this group?

Asrah: “Getting the classrooms and selling items to them for them to use and it makes me happy that they are amazed by their received items.”

Emily: “My favourite part of this job is when I get customers and I like the joy on their faces and their happiness”
