Grade 5/6

Mr Watts and Mr Ward

Welcome Mr Watts

Mr Watts has commenced in the classroom over the past fortnight. It's been great to see him fit in so well in 5/6A. In his first week, Mr Watts focused on getting to know all the students and revisited the classroom in and outs.

A big thank you to Mrs Dallas for all her work over the past 4-5 weeks in 5/6A, no doubt all the students enjoyed having Mrs Dallas in the classroom again, also thank you to all the CRTs that helped out along the way.

DASH - Update

Students are starting to plan their community project, this will be presented at the expo in Week 9. The 2 ideas will be voted on by some of their peers, school representative and some community members and the winners will receive $2000 funding going towards their project and to bring it to life.

Thank you to Carol from Blue Light for educating our students on why it's important to be an active member in their community.

African Dance Group

Monday our students had the opportunity to learn about Western African Culture through dance, song and performance. The boys from Ghana were fantastic, showing their creative and artistic skills. The students participated in activities, creating music on drums and performing cultural dances. The boys also educated our students on some of the history in Africa and their cultural backgrounds!
