2024 GAP Year Program

The Entry Programs and Pathways (EPP) team will soon open applications for the 2024 Gap Year Program. The program will be offered nationally in 2024.

The GAP year program is a non-ongoing 12-month program at the APS2 level. It includes an extensive development program that builds capability while showcasing the diversity of career pathways available in Home Affairs.

To be considered for the program, business areas are encouraged to accommodate flexible work arrangements and who are interested in supporting young people in their transition from Secondary education to selecting a career pathway that is suitable for them. Business areas are encouraged to accommodate at least two APS2 vacancies to fill.
