Spotlight on Performing Arts

Performing Arts Assembly

This week at our Performing Arts Assembly, we recognise and affirm the gifts and talents of students who represent the College through the creative arts. Thank you to all the students who performed, showcasing their guitar, singing, acting and dance talents.

Lastly, we congratulate our appointed Performing Arts captains for 2023 and thank the ensemble directors and Performing Arts team for coordinating an entertaining assembly.

A Night at Badlands

On Wednesday night, Trinity College Performing Arts hosted ‘A Night at Badlands.’ This concert showcased select TC Rock and Jazz Bands, with students from Years 8 to 12. It was great to witness Trinity's range of talent, from the smooth jazz sounds of Swing Band I to our young artists in Social Experiment and the original composition by Vacate Palace.

For our students in Year 12, their last ‘Badlands’ with TC was commemorated with an energy-filled performance by The Joes and a collaboration by the Year 12 ATAR Music students, which left the crowd singing and dancing along.

Thank you to all the staff, friends and families that attended to support these emerging local musicians!

Friends of Performing Arts

The RSPCA Million Paws Walk is returning for 2023. As in previous years, the Friends of Performing Arts have been asked to provide volunteers to perform car parking marshalling duties and gold coin donation collections. This is another tremendous fundraising activity with the RSPCA donating 50% of all donations to the Friends of Performing Arts.

The event is on Sunday, 28 May, at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth.

Friends of Performing Arts have been asked to provide 20 volunteers across two sessions (40 in total). The first session is 6.30am to 11.00am. The second session is 11.00am to 3.00pm.

Next Meeting

All parents are invited to come along and express their interest in supporting the College's music, dance, and drama activities this year. In addition, we are always keen to welcome new parents on board to help behind the scenes of the Performing Arts program.

The next FOPA meeting is Wednesday, 7 June, commencing at 7.00pm in the Staff Lounge, 3rd Floor of the Cultural Centre. We look forward to seeing you there.

FOPA Position Available

We ask that all candidates attend a FOPA meeting to express their interest in the position.

Triathlon Co-Ordinator

The primary duty of this role is to arrange volunteers to assist with triathlon events and other one-off events, such as the RSPCA Million Paws Walk. This role will suit a candidate with excellent communication skills, who is proactive, and who has a can-do attitude.

They will need to communicate with the event organisers (phone/email) to determine the number of volunteers required for each event and, after that, actively acquire volunteers by preparing email communications to parents/caregivers. Familiarity with using Facebook and applications such as Signup Genius as tools to assist with this role would be beneficial but optional.

On the event day, the candidate will be required to undertake a roll call to confirm the number of volunteers who have attended and then liaise with the event-co-ordinator after the event to ensure that the donation has been paid to the college.

A complete handover will be given to the incoming candidate from the exiting candidate.
