A Win for Trinity!

On Wednesday night, Matteo Redolatti (7.3)Levi Casson (7.6) and Thomas Batten (7.7) represented Trinity College at the Western Australian Debating League - Schools Debating Competition and won their first debate against the team from Mount Lawley Senior High School.

The topic debated on the night was: This house would introduce sustainability classes at school, with Trinity arguing on the Negative side. Working hard in the two weeks leading up to this debate, the boys met during their break times to discuss and plan for their debate, coming up with some fantastic ideas and counterarguments.

They debated with confidence and aplomb on the night, offering some insightful rebuttals and rewarded for their efforts with a win.

To win their first debate at an inter-school competition was no mean feat, and with such enthusiasm and energy from the boys, debating at Trinity College looks very promising!

Year 8 Grandparent's Morning Tea

Reflecting on the recent Year 8 Grandparents' morning tea, I am filled with warmth and nostalgia. Following the celebration of Mass, the Year 8 boys took their Grandparents for a tour of the College campus, followed by morning tea in Gibney Hall.

The atmosphere was lively, with the sound of chatter and laughter echoing throughout the room, accompanied by the musical talents of the Year 8's. Seeing the boys interacting with their Grandparents with such affection and respect was heart-warming. Walking around the room, I saw the Grandparents beaming with pride as they shared stories about their grandson. It was clear that they were thrilled to be a part of their Grandson's educational journey and were invested in their academic and personal growth.

What struck me the most was the genuine sense of community and belonging at the event. Trinity, as always, has done an excellent job of creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. The school's values were ingrained in the boys, and they were passing these values on to their Grandparents. I want to thank Fr Oscar for celebrating Mass, Mrs Rosa West for the organisation of the Mass, the Trinity College Auxillary for all their hard work preparing for the event and creating such an inviting atmosphere for the morning tea in Gibney Hall, Mrs Ann Clarke for arranging the music and Ms Melanie Dunn for all her hard work ensuring the event ran smoothly.

Overall, the Grandparents' morning tea event was a beautiful reminder of the importance of family and community in a child's education. It was clear that the boys were thriving in this supportive environment, and I left the event feeling grateful to have been a part of such a special occasion.
