Principal's Message

Term 2, 2023 – Week 3

The events on any calendar remain letters in type until they are lived. People bring events to life, and our students, staff and extended community certainly do that each day of our school calendar. This week brought another rich range of experiences including our second Grandparents’ Mass for the Year 8s, our Performing Arts Assembly, the Badlands Concert, and our Mother’s Day Mass and Morning Tea.

Our Talented Boys

The Performing Arts Assembly and Concert showcased and celebrated the incredible talents of our students. I’m continuously in awe of our boys who come to us to learn, and then display their abilities academically, spiritually, in the sporting arena, and through music, dance, and drama. They are remarkable human beings, and there is much we can learn from them about living life to the full.

Grandparents, Mothers and Mother-figures

The opportunity to focus our love and attention on Grandparents, Mothers and Mother-figures this week reminds us of these special people in our lives who love us and support us unconditionally. For many boys of families whose parents work, grandparents are their second parents for school pick-ups and drop-offs, out-of-school care, and helpful life-advice. These are important times to share precious moments.

Mother's Day is a time to celebrate and honour the incredible women in our lives who have given us so much love, support, and guidance. Whether it's your own mother, grandmother, aunt, or any other mother-figure in your life, this is a special day to show our appreciation and gratitude.

Being a mother is one of the most challenging and rewarding roles in the world. Mothers are the ultimate multitaskers, juggling the responsibilities of caring for children, running a household, and often working as well. They provide a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a nutritious lunch, and much unconditional love.

Our Chapel was full on all three occasions where we celebrated Grandparents, Mothers and mother-figures, in a resounding testimony to the strong bonds and important connections of intergenerational relationships that are vital to young people’s development and sense of self and safety. Your sons and grandsons are a living legacy and a testimony of your love.

Wherever the journey of this week takes you, know that our God goes with you and Christ is your ever-faithful companion.

Live Jesus in our Hearts.
