BBPS Colour Run

The BBPS Colour Run was a huge success and we cannot thank our wonderful PA and volunteers enough for organising and running this event! As you can see by the smiles on their faces, they loved it! It is events like this that emphasise our infectious community spirit. A big shout out to Talo for all her work behind the scenes, as without volunteers these events just can’t happen. Thank you for your generous donations and sponsorship, our community really has gone above and beyond and it was wonderful to see so many parents joining in the fun.

Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme this year focuses on ‘Be a Voice for Generations’, which encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise. At BBPS this week, students focused on engaging with books by first nations authors https://www.reconciliation.org.au/look-for-a-book-must-read-books-by-first-nations-authors-2/, participating in Indigenous games with their multi aged friendships groups lead by our fabulous Year Six leaders and created meaningful artwork around the theme of Reconciliation. Our Year Two’s will be presenting their assembly item on Monday around reconciliation and we invite all Year Two parents to attend.

Here are a few insights from our some of our students in 2C around Reconciliation:

Daniel “Eddy Mabo tried to prove to Captain Cook that First Nations People were the first people in Australia”

Flynn “I think it's amazing that the First Nations People survived through the Ice Age”

Sarah “When Captain Cook arrived he named Australia ‘Terra Nullius’, which means nobodies land”

Prep bags 2023 survey

Have your say about this year’s Prep bags in a short survey, closing Sunday 9 July

Each year, the Department of Education gives every Prep student attending a Victorian government school a bag full of goodies to celebrate this milestone in their education journey. The information and educational resources in the bags are designed to help Prep students and their families thrive from the start of Term 1.

The department is inviting parents and carers of current Prep students to participate in a short survey about the 2023 Prep bags, by 5 pm on Sunday 9 July 2023.

Your feedback will help the department learn what families liked about the Prep bags and what can be improved in 2024. You can have your say at 2023 Prep Bags – Evaluation Survey.

The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous. For more information on this year’s Prep bags, refer to Prep bags.

These three budding authors visited Mrs May's office to read her their story about pets. Check out the photos of them with the green tree frog!
