Sporting Schools Grant Netball Program

This term our school applied for a Sporting Schools Grant to provide students with the opportunity to learn and practise new sports skills. Our school was successful in receiving the grant and were quick to book in a netball program for students from K-6 to hone their skills in a different winter sport.

Our students have been very lucky to have 4 weeks of netball lessons with a local netball coach, Elian Cotter. Each class attends the weekly netball program to learn about specific skills used in the game of netball which are specifically designed to cater for the age and physical development of the students. The students are having a wonderful time practising their passing and catching skills and most importantly being a positive presence in a teamwork environment. Our final lessons in the netball program will conclude in week 5.

Our school was also able to spend remaining funds from the grant on new netballs for the students to use in PE lessons and play time, and a new junior netball ring for our littlest students. We kindly thank Elian for her assistance in delivering the netball program with each of our classes over the past few weeks.
