SPOTLIGHT ON MYRNIONG LEARNING

The Piccinos have been practicing being ‘bucket fillers’ and have been exploring different ways we can fill our own buckets as well as other people’s buckets. They look forward to making their very own buckets in the coming weeks.

Students in Prep/Year 1 have been looking at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander weaving activities. They created a range of amazing designs using natural materials.

Year 4 students have been focusing on narrative writing. They have included elements of TWR (The Writing Revolution) knowledge into their writing, including questions, conjunctions, different sentence types, and appositives.

Year 6 students have completed a novel study of '44 Hours' by Michael Panckridge. They have been creating written responses to the text using higher order thinking skills including summarising and identifying author’s purpose. Michael Panckridge was an upper primary teacher at Myrniong in the late 1980s.
