From the Head of Boarding 

Dear Boarding Community,

Welcome to the August edition of Boarders' Buzz. Term 3 is well underway with the Year 12 HSC Trial Exams coming to an end at the time of publishing, and our Year 11 Boarders gearing up for their exams beginning in Week 8. We wish all of our Seniors the best during these times.

We also wish our Boarders involved in coming sports matches and finals all the best in the coming weeks. You will see from the House pages, that our two Coordinators are busy developing our two new Mount Erin Boarding Houses, Nagle and Rice. We are always looking for interesting stories and images for Boarders' Buzz so feel free to share those with the Coordinators.

The two original winning House Crests are featured in the House section of this edition of Boarders' Buzz. Very soon we will be able to show you the completed crests ready to sit above the new House Entrance signs. (see below)

Mount Erin Hoody

The Mount Erin Hoody has arrived after some delay.

If Boarders are interested in ordering one, please see Amanda Hilton in the Boarding Office.

Mackenzie Scholarship

The late Mr. D.E. Mackenzie of West Wyalong established the scholarship.  It is available to students whose parents have resided in the Bland or Tumbarumba Shires for the past two years.  The scholarship is available for girls or boys boarding at Mount Erin Boarding while attending either Kildare Catholic College or Mater Dei Catholic College in years eleven and twelve.  The scholarship will not exceed $2,000.00 per year and is awarded for both Years Eleven and Twelve. Closing Date   31st August 2023

Year 12 Boarders' Graduation Mass and Dinner

The Year 12's will be officially farewelled by the Boarding House on Wednesday, August 23.

Father Brynes will celebrate Mass and we will have joining us special guests including the Director Of Education CEDWW, Principals, Senior staff of both Colleges, and of course parents and the Graduands themselves. All Boarders are expected to attend and dress is formal school uniform for Years 7 to 11. Photos will be taken of the Graduands in the Mount Erin Boarding Gardens between 5.00 pm and 5.20 pm. Mass begins at 5.30 pm.

Dinner will be held at the Wagga Rulles Club.
