Acting Principal

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome back. I thoroughly enjoyed my 7 weeks long service leave in Europe. I must say it is rather cooler here than in Italy!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful night at the Bogan Bingo on Saturday night. A big thank you to the Parent's Association who have worked tirelessly to put this night together. Last year's fundraising supported the school in obtaining the new playground and smart tv's for the senior classrooms. The children are enjoying the new playground space and classroom equipment. This year we are fundraising to resurface the playground basketball courts.

Swimming Program

As you will be aware, in 2 weeks time (21-25th August) students will take part in a week of swimming lessons at Camberwell Grammar. Thank you to everyone who has already completed the permission form on Operoo. Please complete this ASAP if you have not yet done so. Swimming lessons are an important life skill that promotes the health of our children but also the skills to participate in many summer activities and stay safe. The program at Camberwell Grammar is a fantastic one and I look forward to the children participating in these important lessons.

Book Week/ Book Fair

Book Week for St Bede's has been changed to the week starting 28 August due to the previous week being our swimming lessons week.

The Book Fair for Book Week will still run from Wednesday 16 August to Wednesday 23 August. The fair will be open for sales from Wednesday 16th after school to Tuesday the 22 August. The children will have the opportunity to visit the fair with their class and create a wish list. They can also shop with a parent/carer either before or after school on the above dates.

The Book Fair raises money for our library that we can use to purchase books and resources.

Art Show

The children and staff are busily preparing for the Art Show on the 7th September. Each child is preparing pieces both in their Art Lessons and within their class inquiry into creativity. This should be a wonderful showcase of the children's learning this term. Please keep the date free and perhaps some grandparents may wish to visit as well.
