From Amanda, Year 3 teacher
Year 3 have been learning all about Fractions! The unit began with vocabulary and creating a fractions wall, where students learned to fold paper to partition equally into halves, thirds, quarters, fifths, sixths, eighths, tenths, and twelfths.
We have also begun exploring angles this week. Hunting inside the classroom, we have learnt about the different types of angles and what to look for to help identify them (think acute, straight, obtuse, reflex and full turn). It was a great opportunity for creativity by spying angles around the room, taking photos of them and notating on iPads.
To complement learning at school, there are Doodle Maths assignments that have been allocated. These can be completed at home during the requested homework time of ten minutes per night. We thank families for their support in consolidating the work we do at school.
