Year 2 News

From Kaajal, Year 2 Teacher

Palaeontology

On Monday, the Year 2 students became palaeontologists for the morning!

Each student was given a balloon with something mysterious hidden in the ice inside. Their job was to find a way to break the balloon open and excavate carefully through the ice until they reached the object. Surprise! It was a toy dinosaur! Year 2 did a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves while also giving the school garden a watering. What a dino-mite morning!

Jurassic Period

Over the next 2 weeks in our Literacy block, Year 2 will be learning all about the Jurassic Period through visualising, thinking about the author's purpose and finding the main idea in texts. With the newly learned information, students are going to be tasked with creating their own dinosaurs as well as informing us about its features, habitat and diet.

It's going to be a roarrrring good time and we can't wait to dig-in!
