2023 Opinion Survey

We want our parents, caregivers, guardian to tell us what they think!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

New Staff Member - Dean

On Monday 31st July, we welcomed Dean Hamence to the NMPS teaching team. Dean has joined North Melbourne Primary School as 1C’s classroom teacher. Please feel free to say hello to Dean if you see him around our Molesworth Street Campus.

Traffic Update

As you are aware, we have been working closely with the City of Melbourne regarding the traffic safety measures at our Molesworth Street Campus. (As shared on Compass)

We are pleased to announce that the following designs and installation are underway:

  • Install a zebra crossing on Abbotsford St
  • Install new Kiss & Go signs in Molesworth St
  • Replace ‘old’ Kiss & Go signs at the Errol St Campus with new signs so signage is consistent across both campuses
  • Install a road hump in Molesworth St near the school entrance
  • Paint ‘40’ logos on road in Molesworth St.

The City of Melbourne has also obtained Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) in principle support for an additional crossing on Molesworth St, so this crossing will be installed in August. While City of Melbourne has committed to these measures, we also remind parents and carers about safe driving and walking behaviour at our both our campuses.
