Delany House -
Semester 1 Report
Semester 1 provided Delany House with many opportunities to showcase our commitment to our theme for this year “do the ordinary…extra-ordinarily well!” We started the year identifying the 'little things' we could do each day to set ourselves up for success, then identified barriers to achieving these tasks and ultimately what could be put in place to overcome these barriers.
We celebrated together as a House group via a liturgy at St Mary’s Church followed by learning mentor activities, both of which focused on our theme and provided an opportunity to bring to life many of the 'little things' identified. I would like to take this opportunity as Delany House Leader to communicate how proud I was of the level of engagement, respect, and enthusiasm our Delany students brought to this celebration.
Foundation Day saw Delany Learning Mentor Group 5 steal the show with their traditional Karaoke site and provided an invaluable opportunity for not just Delany House but the entirety of the school community to connect in celebration and fun! Well done to all Delany Learning Mentor groups and thank you to the staff and students who went above and beyond in the organisation and implementation of what was a wonderful celebration.
The Swimming Sports was a successful day for Delany House where our Senior School Students led by example with their enthusiasm and participation. Noah Turner was awarded the House Captains Award for his House spirit! Well done, Noah. We also had a number of students qualify to represent our College at the interschool sports. Congratulations to Brandan Batey who was also the recipient of U/17 Boys Age Champion Award!
I am very proud to be Delany House Leader and look forward to working with our wonderful team of staff and students throughout Semester 2 to bring joy and opportunities to engage together as a community.
Go Delany!
