Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

Welcome back to Term 3.  How quickly have the first six months gone? As a community coming back from a break it is always good to have some clarity around our College’s expectations and around responsibilities.

We believe our learners have the right to:

  • Experience success
  • Be listened to with open-mindedness and be accepting of the ideas of others
  • Learn in a supportive environment where each person can strive for their personal best
  • Be respected by staff and other students
  • Feel and be safe
  • Have access to the best possible learning outcomes
  • Experience a sense of belonging in our College community

For this framework to succeed it is the responsibility of learners to step forward, foster and nurture this. When the framework is challenged and/or disrupted, various measures are taken to re-align behaviour to meet the above rights.

It is at this time that College staff have conversations with our learners on how to better manage behaviour. At times over this term, staff may connect with you, our families, to work together to develop strategies to support a better connection between our learning framework and your child.

With your support we can further develop an environment that strongly encourages us all to have high expectations in learning and behaviour and value each other.

Best wishes for a wonderful Term 3!

Fostering Online Safety

SchoolTV has incredible resources for you to access at any time online or on your smart device. Here is some information on a SchoolTV special report based on Social Media Influencers:

Uniform update and reminder

The school community expects that students wear their uniform with pride and care, and that at all times, as representatives of the school, they appear clean and tidy. Students are expected to wear the uniform as it is described on the College website at: https://www.sje.vic.edu.au/uniform/

When students do not have the correct uniform, their parents/guardians should make contact regarding the uniform item and when it will be rectified. Parents/Guardians are expected to support the College in implementing the uniform expectations.
