Principal Report

At Albany Rise Primary School, we have a strong focus on our 3 core values; Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Over the next few weeks, students, staff and parents will be provided input into the revised Student Wellbeing and Engagement policy, which outlines the positive behaviour expectations we have across the school, the supports and resources available to support students and families, the links to our Code of Conduct, and the outcomes for students when needing support to make positive choices (including the school’s management of bullying type behaviours).

Parents who would like some input into the behaviours they would like to see through our core Values, are encouraged to make contact through various portals or in person, so we have the opportunity to have all members of our community involved an understanding how our values relate to our daily actions and responses in all areas of the school.

Staffing

We are excited to be able to announce the Mrs Natalie Smith (ARPS teacher currently on Family Leave) will be returning to Albany Rise Primary School to take up the position of Visual Art teacher for the remainder of 2023. Natalie is an experienced teacher in all year levels and is excited about the opportunity to further build the Art program for students during Term 3 and 4 this year.

We are still seeking a Music teacher (2 days per week) for our Music specialist program and to support Choir and Whole School Musical production. Our Musical team is currently working diligently on all aspects of the production, and are valuing the support of parents and community members as we commence rehearsals through STOMP dancing sessions and cast script practises. I will continue to keep all informed regarding the outcome of Music teacher position.

Working Bee - save the date! Sunday 13th August

We are planning a weekend Working Bee on Sunday 13th August from 9am. All families are welcomed to come along and support the school efforts to maintain a beautiful and positive learning environment. There are many outdoor and indoor tasks to be undertaken on the day, including:

  • clearing cobwebs
  • hedge trimming
  • planting plants
  • moving resources and clearing storage spaces ready for our Toilet upgrade.

We do hope many families can come along, and also enjoy a FREE BBQ for lunch after all our hard work!
