Acting Principal's Message
NAPLAN results
This year we have achieved outstanding NAPLAN results in both Year 3 & 5. NAPLAN measures student achievement in numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, and grammar and punctuation but the results will now be presented in 4 proficiency levels:
These are: Exceeding, Strong, Developing and Needs Additional Support.
For both year levels we have scored above similar schools in all areas. The results below reflect the percentage of students who scored in the ‘Strong’ or ‘Exceeding’ proficiency level compared to similar schools:
Year 3 NAPLAN | Our School | Similar Schools |
Reading | 90% | 85% |
Writing | 95% | 90% |
Spelling | 89% | 82% |
Numeracy | 90% | 84% |
Grammar & Punctuation | 86% | 77% |
Year 5 NAPLAN | Our School | Similar Schools |

We are very proud of what our students have achieved in the NAPLAN tests. I would like to recognise the expertise of our staff and the work that they do in educating our students. I would also like to acknowledge the collective efforts of our parents and carers. Your support and encouragement play a vital role in your child’s education, we are grateful for the partnership we share with you.
We look forward to building on this success together as we continue to create a bright future for our students. Once again, well done to our students on their terrific results.

The Department of Education enrolment process has changed this year, with all enrolments close 28th July for Prep 2024. If you are a parent at our school and have a younger child to enrol for next year, download the Enrolment form from the website and return to the office or email mount.view.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Year 6 Ski Camp
On Monday 24th July, forty-three Year 6 students travelled to Mount Buller for a three-day ski experience camp. Students had the opportunity to participate in three ski lessons and spend time exploring the mountain. Their confidence and persistence grew as they skied many of the different ski runs. Thank you to the Mrs Ashcroft, Mr Curtis, Mr Foster, Miss Baxter, parent/student helpers and Lesley Shipston for their work in making this a successful ski experience for the students.
Parent Opinion Survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
All families are invited to participate in the survey (an email will be sent out to families on Monday 7th August).
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
