National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.

Last Friday we acknowledged The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.  This initiative started by the Australian government aims to highlight Australian schools and their efforts to counter bullying and violence. This initiative aims to bring school communities together in an attempt to find workable and real solutions that address and eradicate bullying and violence.

This event is part of the government's Bullying. No Way! campaign.

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence is held annually and has recently moved to the third Friday of every August.

But this is an issue that we should be mindful of every day of the year.

This is such an important day, and it’s critical that, as parents, educators, and wider school communities, we work together to put a stop to bullying in schools.

The NDA theme for 2023 is 'growing connections'.

Friendship and kindness are great antidotes to bullying. Our students were encouraged to write words of kindness and friendships on a paper chain. The connected chain from each class symbolises 'growing connections'.
