What's happening!
Building Update
This week we saw the portable classroom disappear and the finishing touches added to the Albert Wing Building. All works should be completed by mid next week.
Date for your Diary - Official Opening and Blessing will take place on Thursday April 30th at 10:00am. All welcome. More details early next term.
Catholic Education Week Sausage Sizzle
We are looking forward to celebrating Catholic Education Week here at school next week. On Tuesday we will be having a sausage sizzle for all students. A big thanks to Pino Castaldo for organising the gluten free sausages and to Ryan and the team at Baker's Delight Mordialloc for donating the bread. If your child is gluten free please supply us with a slice of gluten free bread on Tuesday. Parents are asked to make sure they have completed the caremonkey request to ensure your child is able to enjoy a sausage.
District Swimming
Congratulations to all students who made the St Brigid’s 2020 school team. All students did an amazing job representing our school on the day. A huge thank-you to all the parents who helped out and came and watched.
We have 3 students who go onto Division Swimming on Wednesday 11th March. Congratulations Eliana L-B (3/4RM) who came 1st in 9/10 girls Backstroke, Celine I (5/6CD) who came first in the 11 year old girls Breaststroke and Thomas E (5/6AH) who came 1st in the 11 year old boy Butterfly.
Overall St Brigid’s came 4th out of the 11 schools and in the handicap we came 2nd. These are great results and all the students should be very proud of their efforts.
Baseball
Over the last three weeks all students have been participating in a school baseball program run by Baseball Victoria. All students had an amazing time and now have a greater knowledge of Baseball.
House Cross Country
We have had a great morning and all the students have put in a great effort. We will be holding a special Assembly this afternoon at 2:30pm to announce the results. We will publish results in next week's newsletter.
Year 1 to Year 4 Swimming Program
Our swimming program will take place over the last two weeks of term at the Toby Haenan Swim Centre—10 Ashley Park Drive, Chelsea Heights. All information has been sent to families via Caremonkey. Swimming is a compulsory part of our Sport Program.
Uniform Shop
The Uniform Shop will be open on Monday 3 March - 3:00pm until 3:30pm. Don't forget we will be in winter uniform in Term 2.
Medication at School
As per the Anaphylaxis and Allergy Policies, students must not carry medication in their school bag.
All students who require medication must provide the school office with an Action Plan signed and dated by the doctor, along with their medications (such as ventolin, zyrtec, epipen etc.) These items will be placed in the First Aid Office once they have been received. Luke meets his hero
Luke K was very lucky on Tuesday to participate in the launch of Shane Warne's new Cricket Star Academy Clinic. How exciting Luke!
