Religious Education & Pastoral Care

Religious Education & Pastoral Care - Mrs Bearman, Religious Education

Co-ordinator

I feel that my mission is soon to begin:

My mission is to make others love the good God as I love Him,

To give to souls my little way of trust and self surrender,

I will spend my heaven in doing good upon earth.

A Quotation from St Therese:

Prayer

God of all peoples and nations,

As you accompany us on our Lenten journey,

May our fasting strengthen our

commitment to live in solidarity,

Our almsgiving be an act of justice,

and our prayers anchor us

in love and compassion.

Awaken our hearts and minds that

we may be one human family

As we all go further together.

We ask this in Jesus ' name,

Amen

Project Compassion Boxes

Project Compassion is Caritas Australia's annual Lenten fundraising and awareness-raising appeal. Millions of Australians come together in solidarity with the world's poor to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

Project Compassion inspires so many communities to come together to raise much needed funds for the most vulnerable women, children and men in Australia and around the world.

We ask that these boxes are returned by Wednesday 8th April.

St Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17th March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

On the 17th March we will be celebrating St Patrick's Day. We ask that the children come to school dressed in Green The children are also asked to bring in a gold coin with all proceeds going to Caritas Australia.

Real Talk

WHO IS 'REAL TALK?' We provide seminars, reflection days and up-to-date resources to young people on topics relating to identity, technology, relationships, love, sex and marriage. We speak to over 30,000 students each year and will visit each school in the Armidale diocese in 2020.

They will be running a parent session on the 31st March at 6:30pm. All Parents across K-6 are welcome.

Catholic Principles and Values

2. The Principle of fidelity in Relationships

The Catholic tradition proclaims that the human person is not only sacred but also social/ How we organize our society- in the economics and politics, in law and policy- directly affects human dignity and the capacity of individuals to grow in community.

The family is the original cell of social life that must be supported and strengthened, not undermined. Catholics believe all human persons have a right and a duty to participate in society, working together for the common good and well-being of all especially the poor and vulonerable.
