Around The School - Mr Flynn, Assistant Principal

I would like to thank Mrs. Hanes, Mrs. Holland and all the staff for making me feel so welcome here at St. Joseph's school. I am really excited to be teaching with and learning from such an enthusiastic and caring staff. I am equally looking forward to meeting and getting to know all the students and families as this term progresses.

St. Joseph's has been a hive of activity over the holidays with the completion of Stage 1 of the building project and the commencement of Stage 2 (which is due to finish around the end of term 1). Our teachers have been excitedly planning and organising the new contemporary learning spaces and learning to use all the new visual and sound technology which will greatly assist with our teaching and learning.

Last week our staff went through a series of inductions and professional learning sessions around how to use all this new equipment including new Promethean smartboards, locking and security systems, audio and microphone equipment for all the learning spaces and how students will assemble both before and after school and between recess and lunch. Even though considerable planning has been done in all these areas, please remember that we all need to 'go with the flow' over the first few weeks until we ironed out any 'teething problems' in our new areas.

Once again I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received so far at St. Joseph's, I'm sure it will be a productive and enjoyable 2020.
