Vice-Captains Report
Hi everyone,
We have had some exciting things happen at our school over the past fortnight.
On Tuesday the 7th of June, Adam Wallace who is an author came to our school to talk to the Grade 3/4 students about how to create a story. Adam also showed the kids how to draw some illustrations and spoke about how even the littlest detail can make a big difference in the character’s emotions.
On the 31st of May to the 1st of June, Glasses for Kids program visited our school and conducted eye tests for students in Prep to Grade 3. Students who were identified as needing glasses received glasses for free. This week we have Smile Squad visiting and they will be conducting dental checks.
Charlotte (1R) - I liked looking at the shapes and I got to choose new purple glasses.
Faye (1D) - I liked the shiny thing that they used to check my eyes.
Jeremiah (1A) - They told me to look at the square and the triangle. It was fun!
Arshkirat (1R) - I really liked the smelly sticker that I got at the end.
Amber (1A) - I had to cover one eye at a time and look at the shapes.
On Friday the 3rd of June there was Interschool sports for our school’s T-ball and Netball teams. The girl’s netball team did very well and won overall. They will move on to the next level later on in the year! The mixed netball team were also successful by making it into the semifinals. All netballers performed extremely well on the day and represented our school wonderfully demonstrating that they were gracious winners and losers. The T-ball team also had a lot of fun and made it into the semifinals, placing 3rd out of 7 teams.
Finally, put on your jumpers and zip up your jackets as we are now entering the cold season. It's getting colder outside so you may want to bring some extra layers, just in case. If you don't have any extra school jackets or jumpers, then talk to Ms Moore or Ms A, they're sure to have something to keep you warm.
Until next time,
Ulus and Chloe
