Staff Spirituality Day

O’Connor is a really special community to be part of, and as teachers and support staff, it is important that we take the time out to nourish ourselves with food for the soul. This was the theme for our staff spirituality day for 2022 which was held at Echidna Gully. We were lucky enough to have Philipe Dulawan and Br John Cantwell from the La Sallian Mission Council join us for three days of workshops which provided us the opportunity to reconnect with each other and ourselves, reminding us of how lucky we are to be part of the mission through Catholic Education. It was also wonderful to have Fr Roel join us to celebrate mass and talk to us about our important role as educators.

Year 11 and 12 Mass with the Bishop

The Bishop celebrated Mass with our Year 11 and 12 Students on Thursday 9th June in the De la Salle chapel. It was wonderful to welcome him back to the college and for our senior students to hear words of hope and encouragement. The Bishop spoke of the importance of living out our faith through words and actions:

“Words are good. Actions are great. Together they are change”.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our senior students and their teachers come together and celebrate who we are as a community, and what might lie ahead.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the mass:

Year 12 Musicians:  Mia Brotherson, Lauren Fenton, Joel Croft and Jean Boshoff

Readers: Caleb Dubois-Bender (Year 11), Paige Latham (Year 11), Lara Windred (Year 12).

Keeping in touch with what is happening in the Cathedral Parish is easy through their website and Facebook pages.

With such a difficult year and a half it has been harder for parishioner's to give to the parish through the plates, particularly when the church is closed as it is at present. The Parish account details are available on the Parish bulletin.
