Student Council Report

We have had a jam packed term full of amazing activities and opportunities, with next term being even more full of exciting things!

FINALLY our leavers jumpers have arrived the wait was completely worth it, smiles all around. We all look very smart in our new jumpers.

Low Stress Stock Handling

Over the last 4 weeks we have had two groups attend the low-stress stock handling course, learning all about the new and improved ways of handling livestock at Kylagh feed lock in Tammin. A huge thank you to the Rogers family for giving us this amazing opportunity to work with a range of cattle.

Bib Track

11 Year 12 students attended the 30km hike of the Bibblmun track, completing 6km the first day and sleeping in their warm dry tents at Mt Cooke hut. The second day was a long hard 13kms with stunning views on top of Mt Cooke swarmed by clouds watching the upcoming rain brew, then getting a big rest for their 10 km walk to the final stop. All kids loved the track and it was lifetime experience.

Wellbeing Day

R U OK day revolves around the slogan "R U OK?", and advocates for people to have conversations with others. Us as councillors thought this was a great opportunity to bring the year groups closer. The day commenced with students attending the first 4 periods as normal then after lunch all kids were dressed in bright yellow free dress to support this day. We then had multiple speakers and workshops we attended. Starting off the afternoon was Frank, an indigenous elder welcoming us to his country, then gave us all a laugh and an insight to the indigenous culture.

Wheatbelt Fever Cup

On the 23rd of June we competed in the Fever Cup. The Fever Cup is a carnival for schools all around the Wheatbelt to attend competing in netball.  Throughout the day the girls competed against each other and also against Northam and Merredin, leaving with wins for each team a whole lot of fun and even the green team making it to the grand final!
