Parent Engagement Groups

A Collective Voice

Over the past few years, Curiosity has worked with small groups of family representatives to gain feedback of our Service's practices and procedures and to draw upon the expertise of our parent community.  Partnering with families is a great way of connecting into the wider community and creating friendships.

Our Quality Improvement Plan focuses for 2022-2023 revolve around three areas of research:

  1. Reconciliation Action Plan - In reference to our Connected Schools RAP, designing and creating Curiosity's own RAP that collects the voices of our children, families, staff and Kaurna Elders.  Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday the 29th of June from 2-3pm if  you are interested in committing to this collection of voices.
  2. Pedagogical Documentation - Exploring the ways in which our children's learning is observed, recorded and shared with our community.
  3. Sustainable Practices - Identifying our current practices and exploring areas of improvement in how we reduce, reuse, recycle and source our materials.  Exploring the development of a Community Garden and Bush Kindy site.

As the year progresses, an opportunity to join a 'Families In Action (FIA)' group will be offered to all families to support these areas of research as we continue to build upon enriching the learning at Curiosity.  Please keep your eye out for these invitations and register your interest.

Seeking Volunteers - 'Fling Wide the Doors!'

As we create a pathway for families to enter in the Centre in Term 3, we are looking for a group of volunteers who might be willing to support the process of welcoming families each morning and afternoon.  If you love a good chat and have the time to support the team in this area, please contact Jacqui for a short training session.
