Melbourne Career Expo

The Melbourne Career Expo is a very comprehensive and exciting event that showcases almost 200 Universities, TAFEs and other providers. There are some great seminars and workshops every day. All sectors industries and covered with the latest career trends and opportunities showcased and ready to be explored. It will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in July – Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th.

Defying the Drift (DtD)

Defying the Drift (DtD) is a three day residential program at Longerenong College in the September school holidays for current Year 10 and Year 11 students. The program is perfect for young people who want to explore agriculture and agribusiness career opportunities. Sponsorship through local Rotary Clubs is available. A Day at Melbourne

CASPer Test for Teaching Courses

Year 12 students are aware that one of Education course prerequisites is to sit the CASPer Test and they need to complete this test to be eligible for Round 1 offers. Dates for this year are July 21st, August 24th, September 16th, October 16th, November 13th and December 8th.

Work Experience

It is great to see a number of our senior students deciding to do a work experience placement over the school holidays.  They are doing this to help confirm they on the right career pathway.

 

Any student wishing to do something similar needs to see Brenda in the Pathways Office to obtain the required paperwork.

 

10B students are out this week undertaking work experience placements in a variety of settings, including a variety of Allied Health practices, animal care, automotive, surveying, Primary Schools, agriculture, building, SHRCC services and engineering.  Here are some photos from our visits today.

SuniTAFE Short Course

SuniTAFE are offering a short course – Introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD) during the June/July school holidays at the Swan Hill Campus. Students will engage in CAD design activities, increasing in complexity, to create designs that can be printed out using our supplied 3D printer technology. Murray Mallee Chiropractic currently has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and caring person to join their team as a Chiropractic Assistant.  A Position Description is available from their practice.
