Naplan

By the end of August, we are expecting this year’s NAPLAN results to be released to schools.

Having our Year 7 and 9 students complete NAPLAN tests this year was particularly challenging due to COVID19 related absences. Even with the rescheduling challenges, we were still able to have just on 89% of our Year 7 and 9 students complete all four of the tests.

As a school, we always look closely at the trends in student achievement that NAPLAN data provides, however it will be even more interesting to look closely at what impacts the last two years has had on our students’ outcomes in relation to the NAPLAN tests. One of the really positive outcomes noted during the administration of the tests this year was how well students responded to working in the required test conditions. The culture of taking pride in all aspects of schooling was clearly evident in students as they engaged in each test. This positive behaviour highlights one of the many reasons we as a school community – parents/carers/kin, teachers and support staff – can all be very proud of our fantastic students.

Once the individual student reports arrive at our school, we will ensure that they are posted home to parents/carers/kin as soon as possible.
