Wellbeing

Well, we did it .... AGAIN!!

Congratulations to all the parents, carers, grandparents, friends and neighbours who assisted in supporting our remote learning program. Most of all though, well done to the students who have once again shown great resilience and dedication to their learning.

As we know, the constant changes to our routines and connections with others can place a huge strain on us all financially, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Our children suffer from this also but can sense the impact on the adults around them too.

If you feel that your child is suffering, we offer specific programs at school that can support their mental health and wellbeing.

1:1 Counselling with Miss Renee (who is also our fabulous Art teacher). On Thursdays we are fortunate that we have Renee available for counselling including art therapy, sand therapy, emotional regulation and grief support. Renee is a qualified and registered counsellor with extensive experience working with children. All her services are private and confidential, offering open communication with parents and carers so that you can be a part of your child's journey.

Social Skills Group Therapy with Miss Margaret. On Tuesdays, Marg works with small groups to support appropriate development of social skills including - communication, emotional identification and response, sharing and turn taking, being a good winner and loser and playing fairly.

Social and Emotional Learning in the classroom. Each week, our class teachers incorporate an extensive program that supports children's ability to connect with their own and other's feelings. This program is developed from a range of research and evidence-based programs including BounceBack, Respectful Relationships, Zones of Regulation and the Berry St Education Model. Each week, time is allocated to the explicit teaching of emotional regulation, mindfulness, co-operation, friendship skills, stress management and resilience.

If you are concerned for your child's mental health and wellbeing in any way, please contact me to discuss how we can support them.
