3/4 CG

We're back!

A big well done to all our 3/4 students for getting through another lockdown of remote learning. We are very proud of you for showing up each morning and submitting your work. We are so excited to have you back in the classroom and to bring some routine back into our day!

Area:

Over the last few weeks, we have been learning about area. Students were asked to follow a design brief to create their dream backyard. They had to design something that was between 80m² and 140m². They had to use every square meter of space to make it complete. This could be taken up by things such as pools, decks, garden beds, etc. We were very impressed with some of the designs... we might need you to come and design our backyards!

Literacy

Whilst we have been doing remote learning we have been incorporating a lot of our education in faith and inquiry unit into our literacy.

Over the few weeks, we have started looking at stewardship of creation. Stewardship of creation is about caring for the gifts that God has given us, including the environment.

Students were asked to watch a video from Laudato Si about caring for our common home. Students were then asked to write 3 things: one thing that excited them, one that worries them, and lastly, what their stance is on the situation.

Below are some of their responses:

Respectful relationships

This week, we looked at Emotions and recognised that emotions can be felt and expressed in different ways. We also recognised that the strength of feelings of emotions can vary from weak to strong, just like the range of temperatures on a thermometer. Students identified words that can be used to express the strength of emotions and placed them on that scale. We also understood that different people may react differently to the same trigger.
