Battle of the Bands – Next Week.

Welcome back. 

Week 1 has begun with such enthusiasm, starting with our Auslan leaders at the assembly and students racing into the Music Room at recess times to rehearse their songs. Our dancers grabbed iPads and found space in the hall to perfect their routines and skills. Our production this year is shaping up to be the best one ever.  (Covid willing!)

Sadly, we can’t extend the distancing/covid laws to allow parents to attend, but we have a WebEx address for you. You will be able to drop in to see the event unfold. 

The concert will commence at 12.10pm approximately. Students will arrive in the hall after recess and get settled before we start.

Final Rehearsals:

Some of these rehearsal times have been changed due to swimming starting in the years 5 & 6 area. Please remind your child to bring their instruments on Tuesday, 20th July for the final preparations.

10am:    David Vinson’s Band

10.30:     5T – Highway to Help

Recess:        Mrs Morrow’s break

12 noon:    5M – Hall of Fame

12.45:         5B - Titanium

1.15:           6P – Cover Me in Sunshine

Lunch time rehearsals: 

1.50:  Rip Tide – Year 6

2.20:  Believer Band – Year 6

2.40:  6K All Star

After school – prepare all the equipment for a set up early Thursday morning.

Choir Begins Week 3

With Battle of the Bands, Athletics Day and Parent Teacher Interviews, as well as Swimming for Years 5 & 6 in week two, I have decided to start Choir in Week 3. All the recess rehearsals and sports practices should be out of the way by then and we will have more space and time to enjoy choir. Looking forward to hearing those wonderful harmonies.

IPS STRING GROUPS ARE UP AND RUNNING!

START UP STRINGS had a wonderful beginning to term on Monday impressing the String teachers with their newly learned music reading skills.

Parent Helpers Needed

If you are able to help with locking the gate on Monday and/or Thursday please contact me (Liz). We would be most appreciative as it would be of great assistance to us!

On Thursday 22nd July the Hall will be setting up for Battle of the Bands.

• START UP STRINGS Cello players will meet Helen at the hall as usual on Thursday 22nd and then go to an alternative room for the lesson.
• START UP STRINGS Violin Group will be in the Hall on Tuesday 20th instead of Thursday 22nd (NO rehearsal on Thursday 22nd)

ORCHESTRA sounded amazing at their first rehearsal this morning with 56 students in attendance.

CORELLI STRINGS begins on Friday and I look forward to another fun rehearsal and some new pieces.

For the next 2 weeks the gate by the hall will be opened for each group between the following times
